Roxanne Hamlin, Secretary at Leman Middle School was awarded a $1000.00 SCORE grant from the Illinois Education Association. The grant will assist the WEGO Together Community Market in providing personal hygiene products and other items to families in need.

Hamlin is a member of the District 33 Support Staff Association and has worked for the District for 19 years.

“The WeGo Together Community Market was started several years ago to support the needs of our district families. They are partnered with outside agencies who support our WeGo Together for Kids partnership.  Every Tuesday the market is open in the late afternoon for families to come and shop for their weekly needs. Food and other items are easier to get donated or purchase from the main food bank, however, personal hygiene products are not. I am very happy and excited that I was awarded this, that our union values partnerships with districts and the families we serve.” – Roxanne Hamlin.
